MRL Veterans Unit on Today's LM

On my usual yard inspection this morning, I spotted IT. Knew it was only a matter of time. The question was; would the LM get out in daylight? Decided to go do some grocery shopping and my timing was perfect as they were calling on the radio just as I got back.

National Ave.

I'll bet the Space Force is just crushed that they weren't included. Maybe they can complain to the Estate of Gene Rodenberry.

MRL LM Gets out of Helena With Three 645s on the Point

Typical power for the Laurel-Missoula is two or three SD70ACes. Was on my way to breakfast one day last week and saw this lashup leaving Helena Yard. Needless to say, breakfast could wait. No captions on these photos, I think they can stand alone. Train is shown leaving Helena Jct. and heading thru Tobin.

MRL SD45 355 Makes a Quick Turn at Helena

Was looking forward to chasing this SD45 spliced LM out of town.
Was not to be. The 45 was quickly set out to the roundhouse. Guess they only needed the extra horsepower for Bozeman and Winston Hills. The LM would probably get a manned helper for Mullan.
Later in the afternoon caught some north side light on this WB manifest at Carter Street.

355 gets picked up to be an unmanned for an EB manifest.

Crew mentioned on the radio that the 355 would be set out at Livingston.
