Post hoc analysis. WB coal gets out of Helena after adding a unit to the three unit consist it arrived with. This photo apparently shows the reason for the add. The UP unit in the consist is the one delivering the plume of smoke into the air so presumably the unit was not sufficiently contributing to the tractive effort.
Adding 5215 to the consist, making for an interesting juxtaposition of locos as seen from National Ave.
