A Santa Fe manifest drifts downgrade toward Kingman back in 1990. Both Santa Fe and SP stopped buying six-axle power for awhile thinking they could run short intermodal trains at higher speeds over both the Transcon and the Sunset Route, then the stack trains got a lot heavier and that little experiment ended.
