Dr. Frankenstein Takes the Train - Part 2

Mel Brook's Young Frankenstein and a classic Hollywood depot goodbye scene.

Gene Wilder trying to get amorous with Madeline Khan.
"All Aboard ! "

And all Gene Wilder can manage is a farewell elbow bump.

And a blown kiss.

The Doctor settles in with a medical journal.
Then in a clever quick cut the Dr. arrives at Transylvania Station.
(A nod to a certain Twilight Zone episode?)
"Pardon me boy, is this Transylvania Station?"

"Yes sir, Track 29, would you like a shine"

Alone in the Transylvanian Mist

Ah, but here is faithful "Eye-Gore" to take him to the Castle Frankenstein.

The Transylvania Station joke, of course, comes from Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Whether it was really an influence on Mel Brooks, the morphing of trains from the present to the past certainly reminds me of the Twilight Zone Episode A Stop at Willoughby.

Harried ad executive Gart Williams (James Daly) dwells on his problems.

Daly rouses from a nap.

Only to find that the decor and the costumes have changed just a bit.
