Snow here in Helena is usually of the very dry powder type. Walking on top of it on a cold night, it loudly squeaks in protest as every ice crystal rubs against its neighbor. Yesterday, we got a big wet flake kind of storm, the result of a wet Pacific air mass colliding with colder air.
