Just learned of Jack Bruce's passing. In the language of the era "What a major bummer!"
The triad of really influential 60's bass players is now down to two, Jack Casady, and Phil Lesh. Jack Bruce was apparently felled by liver issues, and had a liver transplant 10 years ago. Phil Lesh also had a liver transplant, but lives and plays today. Liver cancer claimed my railfan friend Daryl McGee of Tulsa earlier this year.
Even if your not a bass player, watch this video. It shows very keenly just what a talent he was.
