A Grainer Kind of Afternoon in Montana

EB Empty Grainer drops down towards Helena Jct.

Gotta love these old Santa Fe 900s

The deer are a bit concerned, train on one side, and me on the other. They made a quick exit to the left as soon as the train passed.

With proper framing one can pretend the BN still exists.

Last car on the train.

Helpers cut in, its time to notch it up.

Carroll College looms in the background.

Set out at Austin with just a little drawbar problem.

Austin

Meeting another empty at Austin.

A nice late afternoon of action on the MRL today. October 2nd brought the first snow, but today was gorgeous and in the 60s. The railroad obliged with three grain trains, one west and two east.
