Light Rail in Santa Cruz - Tenerife, Canary Islands

I am always pleasantly surprised when I run across an example of rail transit in an unexpected place. The metropolitan area population of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is only 500,000, yet it has two tram lines (link to official site.)  According to the Wikipedia article, the system has 20 Alstom Citadis cars,  and opened in 2007.
