Ukraine Irony You Won't Hear About on CNN - The Kievan Rus

A cogent irony for those familiar with Russian history is the fact of the  Kievan Rus,  or the Varangians. These were a Viking people that played a great role in the establishment of Russia, and whose capital was Kiev, in Ukraine.
