No, not the Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen kind of shredding, but the East Asian voracious appetite for scrap steel kind of shredding. This facility sits on the former site of a plywood mill that used to dominate the view south of the Vancouver Depot for years. Its a noisy neighbor and a smelly one too. Some of the shredded scrap leaves by rail, but most gets shuttled to the Port of Vancouver in trucks like the one at top left.
