While the last Canadian Pennies were minted in 2012, they have remained in circulation, but that will end on Feb 4, 2013, when Canadian banks will start taking them out of circulation. Check out this story about a Canadian musician and the Canadian Mint. Once again the canard of intellectual property rights is carried to an absurd extreme! I think that this Medford man has the right idea, but then, maybe that is because I grew up reading Scrooge McDuck comics!
