Flynn Turn - The SP S12 Chronicles

Old Paint SP S12 2133 on the Flynn Turn, Corvallis, Oregon - August 1968

Flynn was an additional station on the Toledo Branch just railroad east of Philomath, and was the site of a large mill. The train would actually go as far as Wren, and was replaced by a turn out of Albany called the Wren Turn sometime in the 70s. This was back in 16 hours of service days, and the crew of the Flynn Turn had already performed their duties as the Monroe earlier in the day. The train is seen on the geographic west side of the wye that connected Corvallis Yard on the Westside Branch, and the Toledo Branch. Just a few feet to the left is Western Ave, the old US Route 20 to Newport. The crew is probably at beans as they can't leave town until train 706 clears. The 2133 exhibits a later modification of the black and orange tiger stripe scheme, with the solid orange frame stripe and cab end.
