These are the sort of lineside details that don't survive big track rehab projects. These structures were right out of the system standards manual and were often overlooked by railfan photographers. The culvert in the top photo is nearly filled in, a sign of deferred maintenance, but by then the old Valley Line was pretty much considered a secondary line at this point.
