331 km/h - SNCF 1955




A remarkable period documentary of France's high speed rail experiments that would ultimately lead to today's TGV (you will notice the word "vitesse" used often.) Especially interesting are the preparations for the instrumentation, both on board the train, and lineside. The aerial shots show a huge plume of dust, and pantograph arcing.
