JA at the Family Dog - 1970

This had to be one of the very last performances of the Airplane before Dryden, and Balin  left. This song was always an amazing vehicle for Casady. Unfortunately you don't get to see a lot of his fingering during his solo, but you do get to see his right hand technique for alternating between single notes, and chords. This video also illuminates Kantner's highly undervalued rhythm technique, the man has some chops. Another amazing recording of this first Pooneil song can be found on the Woodstock CD.
