Superb footage of US GI's constructing and operating narrow gauge lines to front in France in World War I. Note the little side-rod gas mechanicals. These must be some of the first applications of internal combustion to the rails. It looks like there were more of the 2-6-2Ts. At the end of the video, we see the cannon fodder do a cross platform train change.
