The SP Mill City job at Shelburn, Oregon in June 1986. Photos taken about 2-3 hours apart. Shelburn was the junction between the Woodburn-Springfield Branch and the Mill City Line before a flood took out the bridge over the North Santiam. The crossing of the river was abandoned and this severed the line. The abandoned wye is still very visible in the Google map. The Mill City line was part of the Oregon Pacific Railroad built by T. Egenton Hogg of Corvallis. The line was graded to Idanha and was to cross Santiam Pass and possibly join up with the C&NW somewhere in Eastern Oregon before running out of money in 1891.
