Las Vegas Fun Train - LAUPT 1971

UP Las Vegas Fun Train - Los Angeles, California

The absurdly ambitious and utterly flawed DesertXpress languishes on planners boards, and even worse, in big PDF files on the hard drives of "public servants."  Why couldn't we just have conventional passenger service between LA and Salt Lake City? What happened to the 403b concept? Private/public partnerships worked in the 1930s, viz the Hoover Dam. Today they result in abortions like the South Macadam Project in Portland. I do not want to see one cent of my tax money to go to the DesertXpress, just buy some damn conventional passenger equipment, some FP59s, and start running trains!
