A Pacific Railroad Society excursion from L.A. to Indio. These sort of trips, which had a long and proud tradition in Southern California, would soon mostly disappear due to a dearth of equipment in the Amtrak era. The trip was scheduled to coincide with the Date Festival, the so called "daisypicker" justification for the trip.
