Musical Interlude - Downey Mildew
Charlie Baldonado of Downey Mildew was one very lucky man to have worked with two such lovely and talented ladies as Jenny Homer, and Nancy McCoy. I saw them in LA the same night that Kirk Gibson hit his incredible homer against the Oakland A's in the World Series. I listened to the end of the game on my car radio in front of the nightclub. This video was shot on the bridge over the Rio Grande Gorge in New Mexico, with the Sangre DeChristos in the background. Another unsung 80s band that has been mostly forgotten. Their music has always seemed to come from some other place and time, far removed from even idyllic San Luis Obispo, where they formed as Cal Poly students. Charlie had an incredible arpeggiated rhythm style, I wonder if he is still active musically.
Filmed at the Glendale SP station. Myspace Link.
