Santa Fe Curtis Hill - Line Relocations

Perhaps not as spectacular as the SP horseshoe in West Texas, here is the Google Maps view of the Curtis Hill area in western Oklahoma. This area was made somewhat famous by photographer Preston George.  Please see the seventh photograph here:

A look to the left of the current mainline shows a much curvier line going almost to the bridge over the Cimarron River. This is pretty country, and it is all pretty much flat east of Waynoka. Please Look out for the Ornate Box Turtle while driving.  These guys are all over the road in late spring and summer.
