Google Maps is a great tool for armchair railroad archeology. The map above shows this spectacular, and perfectly Omega shaped horseshoe curve, part of the 1881 alignment northwest of Sierra Blanca, Texas. SP spent $ Million for a 9.29 mile line relocation in 1959 which eliminated the curve. More info here, and a photo is here.
