Southern Pacific train No. 706. Eugene to Toledo, Oregon. This was one of the last trains on the SP to be powered by solid sets of Fs, lasting through the summer of 1969. This photo was taken in the summer of 1968. The train has just returned to the Toledo Branch after swinging off of Sixth St. on the Westside Branch in Corvallis, Oregon. The previous summer saw Fs on this train, but also mixed sets of Alco Centuries, and Fs, at least one still in the gold Alco Demo scheme.
