Burly !

There was just something burly about the SD35. These units were mainstays of heavy Southern California freight service, being part of the BAK-TF freight pool, they logged many a mile over Tehachapi, and the Palmdale Cutoff, and were also regularly used on the Kaiser taconite trains.  6923 is seen at the engine facility at City of Industry Yard in 1968.
