Warbonnets in the Foggy Bottom

WB grainer ties up at Helena at 4:26 pm Wednesday, December 13.
Haven't seen any red and silver on the point in months and here are two of then with very little chance of getting out in daylight.
The morning started out with several inches of snowfall, and then partial clearing.

But then it started to get foggy, very unusual for Helena.
Decamped from the depot to go to the Chinese Buffet near the Capitol, and the fog is beginning to drop from the hills into the valley.

Back down to the depot and the fog is getting thicker. Still hoping he might get out of town in any kind of light.
Note the bracket around the exhaust stack. Purpose?

Time to go home, Railroad Ave. is becoming almost opaque.

  1. It's hard to believe that in the eve of 2018 there are any superfleet painted BNSF units still riding the rails. Surprised that they are that clean too.

Hopefully someday BNSF will jump on board the Heritage bandwagon.
