Fontaine Fox's very popular Toonerville Trolley comic strip inspired toys, films, and this L.A. diner some 3000 miles away from Westchester County, New York. That is where Mr. Fox was inspired by a rattle trap streetcar which met New York Central commuter trains. The photos above from the Los Angeles Public Library collection show a very well conceived diner which was located at 1635 W. Manchester, just a block east of Western Ave.
