Lake Superior Zoo Flood - Duluth Minnesota

I was curious after watching TV news reports about the flooding in Duluth Minnesota, which included accounts of severe flooding at the Lake Superior Zoo. It didn't take me long to figure out why this area flooded. Take a look at the ravine just north of the tree symbol for Fairmount Park. You can see how much Kingsbury Creek has eroded a little gorge, and then notice how the water course just stops, and presumably enters a culvert. Now notice how flat the area occupied by the zoo is.  Can you say floodplain?
