The Sharp Curve at Colgate

From an old Soo Line timetable, Colgate is a small unincorporated community at the southern end of the Kettle and Moraine Country. Google Earth generally shows this area as Hubertus, which the CN now does sail thru with some frequency. The alignment of the curve almost certainly dates back to Wisconsin Central days. It is boggy through this area and there are several lakes nearby.

Chicago bound modern intermodal meets steam era curve.

A 1+1 on a cloudier day.

And red.....

.... is being replaced by pink.

Bark Lake is just a frog's croak away.
