Ex NP GP9 MRL 109 has been the Helena Switcher since I moved here five years ago. Even though it has been paired with SD40 262 for a while now, the job is always referred to as MRL 109 on the radio, as in "That'l do 109."
If you follow the old GN line to the east, you will see where it ends, but the old right of way is clearly visible just to the south of the MRL mainline.

| The Helena Switch brings empties out of Superior Propane. The train is on the former Great Northern Butte Line (see map at the bottom of this post.) I believe that the facility it is passing through used to be a wood chipping operation, but is inactive. |
