USS Helena - Torpedoed During the Attack on Pearl Harbor - 34 Sailors Killed


The second of four Navy ships to be named after Montana's capital city. The cruiser was repaired at Mare Island in 1942, but was sunk by another Japanese torpedo during the Battle of Kula Gulf in 1943.
