Dog Daze

The expression "Dog Days of Summer," may easily be thought of in terms of tired pooches sleeping on porches, but the saying actually goes all the way back to Ancient Greece. The Dog Star, Sirius, just begins to be visible over the Southern Horizon in late summer. The astrologically minded ancients actually thought that Sirius brought both heat and discord down to Earth. Personally, I am looking forward to the cooler temperatures, and better light of fall.

It's only late June, but the temperature in Missoula is flirting with 100
