Sixteen Degrees on the Mountain

Prolly shoulda stayed in town and soaked in a hot tub. Waited up at Austin for the red flag to come down from the double track project, for the coal and empty grain trains shown below, to come through. It was mostly clear, and sunny, with just a thin gauze of high clouds, and a stiff breeze around 10 knots. In other words, a wind chill of around zero. Even a thin gauze of high clouds is a enough to precipitate, and a fine sparkle of ice crytals could be seen in the sky at times.
