WP Lives - Installment Number One

UP GP35 798, former Western Pacific 3020, at City of Industry, California - 1990

WP Lives, UP 798, ex WP 3020
Seeing a former Western Pacific locomotive on the UP was always a kick. Like former SP units, they were always easy to spot due to their headlights, plated over, or not. Roster information from Don Strack's marvelous Utah Rails site (link.)  These ex WP units were added to the roster long after UP had retired their own fleet of GP35's.  More to come.

  1. This engine ended up on Watco Plaouse River and Coulee city Railroad and still may be working out of colfax WA on the PCC/Blue Mountain railroad
