One of 12 remaining SP SD9s on the UP. This would turn out to be the last time I ever saw or photographed an SP SD9. According to the amazing Don Strack, all time roster wizard, 4313 was retired May 19, 1997. I figure this photo was taken just a few weeks before the end. This set of power with a D&RGW SD40T-2, had just arrived from Brooklyn Yard to pick up a train at Albina.
