SD39s, SP's premier drag freight engines, a worthy nod to the days of the 2-10-2 "Decks." You could hear the low frequency drone of these engines climbing up Pomona Hill long before the trains became visible. The train is passing the former site of UP's original Los Angeles yard and roundhouse.
