Towards the top of USFS road 5884 is the siding of Cruzatte. Go much past the railroad and you wind up on top a ridge with a fair view of Diamond Peak. You could once drive right to the west switch, but the spur road off the USFS road has been gated for some years. I would embed the Google map, but the satellite views of this area are not very good.
