Union Pacific and the Harbor - Part Deux

Two UP SD40-2s pull coal empties from Metropolitan Stevedore in Long Beach, California.  The building in the background is the HQ for the Long Beach Harbor.

Looking south from Pacific Coast Highway with the Terminal Island Freeway on the left. Utah coal empties are headed to East Los Angeles. The Gerald Desmond Bridge is visible in the background, as is the Power Plant on Terminal Island. See the Google Map below, for a current view of the area.

Ex MoPac "Shrimp Boats" B23-7s  switch the old auto facility along Anaheim Street,  back around to the right. The refinery in the background was originally Champlin Petroleum, was then acquired by the UP, then became Ultramar, now its Valero.

Night view of the Valero Refinery in Wilmington via.
