R.I.P. Mark Hatfield - Hillsboro Oregon - Blue Line Terminus

TriMet Hillsboro, Oregon - November, 2011
The Hillsboro, Oregon TriMet Blue Line terminus is located at the west end of downtown and serves the complex of Washington County government buildings. Despite the fact that Hillsboro is thus the administrative center for the suburban sprawl of the eastern portions of the county (Beaverton, Tigard,) the city retains a lot of its character as an agricultural hub. Western Washington County is intensively farmed, and is home to several large scale nursery operations. Hillsboro is often the cold spot in the Portland Metro area. Cold air sinks off the eastern slope of the Coast Range and pools in the lowlands along the meandering Tualatin River. The day I took this picture, I left Beaverton late in the morning with sunny skies and a temperature around sixty. When I got off the train in Hillsboro it was foggy and dank and ten degrees colder.
