There is a discussion on Altamont Press regarding Lake Erie Franklin and Clarion freight cars. The car pictured above was in the process of being unloaded at Metropolitan Stevedore in Long Beach, California, circa 1990 in a UP unit coal train. These cars were often seen then in such consists, as cars from another tail wagging the dog railroad, the Upper Merion and Plymouth.
