"B" is for Bolo

ATSF 5625 East at Bolo, California
When the Southern Pacific built the line to Needles, they started to name the stations alphabetically starting with Amboy. Bolo Hill is a place where you can watch creosote bush movies at night, when the headlight of an approaching eastbound describe intricate shadows across the ground and pole line. This was also a place, where back in Rule 251 double track ABS days, you could watch the progression of signal aspects as trains crossed the big alluvial valley to the west.
