A year into Amtrak, the motive power is still the same, 2 SP SDP45s, but the consist has changed. Former Santa Fe chair cars are numerous on the Starlight, and the rear end is brought up by a former Seaboard Airline round tail obs from the Silver Meteor, and Silver Comet trains. The gasometers are long gone from the LA skyline.
