National EMD 645 Locomotive Preserve

The Arizona and California is a designated TrainWatchersJournal - National EMD 645 Locomotive Preserve, an honor previously accorded to the Montana Rail Link. I used to travel in search of Baldwins, Alcos, and F-Units, but nowadays, my idea of the ultimate railfan safari, would be to chase big 6-axle EMD 645 engined units all over the U.S. (and maybe Brasil !)

A&C SD40M-2 4003 is ex Clinchfield  SD45-2 3608
A&C SD40M-2 4002 is ex SP SD45 9005
A&C GP40R is ex B&O GP40 3705

This locomotive has been heavily modified at some point. One radiator fan has been removed, and newer
radiator grills installed. The d/b blister has been changed, and I doubt if the air filter box was original equipment.
