SP 9362 W. Cruzatte, Oregon - August 1988 |
I thought I had a slide of a train at the east end of Cruzatte, just had to find it. Lead locomotive is notable for several reasons. Unlike its sibling behind it, the unit has not gone through the rebuilding/renumbering at Roseville. And beside the Kodachrome paint, the unit still sports the full light package.
I enjoy every aspect of your blog. From music to SP to Europe. I was fortunate to ride behind fast steam in East Germany in 1976.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting my SAAB pics with the UP executive train.
My latest ride is a 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth, that will, hopefully, take me to eastern Washington, for mainline, high speed freight operations.
Trouble is, I am 61, going on 62. Wasn't that a song? lol
Love your photos of SP in the Cascade mountains. My family rode the Shasta Daylight in June, 1955. I remember just bits and pieces of that trip, as I was just turning four years old. But I do remember it. As does my 95 year old mom.
Thank you for your wonderful blog.
