Kalama, Washington on the Columbia River is a train watchers destination of expedience when one gets a late start on a summer day and you live in the Portland area. These are among my earliest digital photographs. My new Fuji S5100 had been getting a workout photographing a new litter of kittens. A late afternoon call to a friend who is also interested in maritime subjects as myself, joined me. We kept very busy shuttling back and forth between the bank of the Columbia, and the tracks. This afternoon, the ships won.
